3. General information and mandatory information

Data protection

We take the protection of your personal data seriously and treat it confidentially in accordance with statutory data protection regulations. Please note that data transmission over the internet (e.g. by email) may be subject to security breaches.

Storage duration

Unless a more specific storage period is stated in this policy, your personal data remains with us until the purpose for which it was collected no longer applies. Upon a legitimate request for deletion or revocation, data will be deleted unless statutory retention requirements apply.

You have the right to have data we process based on your consent or in fulfilment of a contract automatically delivered to yourself or to a third party in a standard, machine-readable format.

SSL / TLS encryption

This site uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons. Encrypted connections display "https://" in the address bar with a lock icon.

Opposition to promotional emails

We expressly prohibit the use of contact details published in the legal notice for sending unsolicited advertising. The operator reserves legal action rights against unsolicited promotional material.

4. Data collection on this website

Server log files

The hosting server automatically collects and stores information that your browser transmits:

  • browser type and version
  • operating system
  • referrer URL
  • host name of the accessing computer
  • time of the server request
  • IP address

These data are not combined with data from other sources. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

Contact form / email enquiry

If you contact us via the contact form or by email, we will store the data you provide (name, email address and your message) for the purpose of handling the enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not share this data without your consent. Processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual/contractual request), Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate handling interest) or Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR (consent). Data is retained until you request its deletion, revoke consent or the purpose ceases to apply.

Cookies

This website may use cookies – small text files stored by your browser. Technically necessary cookies are stored under Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR and § 25 (2) TDDDG. Other cookies (e.g. analytics) are only set with your consent per Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and § 25 (1) TDDDG and may be revoked at any time. You can configure your browser to inform you about the use of cookies or to reject them.

5. Third-party services used

Google Fonts

This site embeds "Google Fonts" to display fonts uniformly. When the page loads, your browser fetches the required web fonts into its cache, establishing a direct connection to Google servers (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google therefore becomes aware that this website was accessed via your IP address. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in uniform presentation). Further information: policies.google.com/privacy.

Font Awesome

Icons are loaded from "Font Awesome" by Fonticons, Inc., 6 Porter Road, Apartment 3R, Cambridge, MA 02140, USA. Your browser fetches the resources from Font Awesome servers, which therefore become aware of your IP address. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. See: fontawesome.com/privacy.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics uses cookies that enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by these cookies is usually transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the USA.

IP anonymisation is enabled: your IP address is shortened by Google within the EU / EEA before being transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address sent to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the site operator, Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports and provide further services related to website and internet usage. IP addresses are not merged with other Google data.

Usage is based on Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR (consent, where requested) or Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. A data processing agreement has been concluded with Google. You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by installing the browser add-on available at: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Further information: policies.google.com/privacy.

AI service providers

To generate the content of the observation experiment, SolipsOS uses APIs from large-language-model providers (e.g. Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, OpenRouter). Only technical prompts generated by SolipsOS are transmitted to these services – no personal user data.
